WIN ONE OF FIVE DOUBLE PASSES TO SCORSESE SEASON AT THE NFSA! (http://static.bmamag.com/photologue/photos/cache/483_ImagesGIVEAWAYS---Scorsese_article_size_4.jpg) Beginning July 1, the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia will celebrate legendary director Martin Scorsese, with a month long season of his greatest works (and some of his personal favourites) at Arc cinema. The program is presented in association with renowned film critic David Stratton, the Sydney Film Festival and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), and includes nine Scorsese classics handpicked by Stratton. David Stratton said: "Scorsese's enthusiasm for the cinema's past went beyond fandom or buffdom – he was passionately devoted to the rediscovery and restoration of the great films of the past, from any source." NFSA Community Engagement Manager Cris Kennedy said, "Everyone quotes Scorsese, often without knowing it, he's so much a part of the cultural firmament ... A season like this is an incredibly rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Scorsese and understand the beauty of not only the films themselves but the impact they've had on every generation of filmmaker that came after him."
