Since its inception in 1974, over two million South Australian children have participated in the DreamBIG Children’s Festival (formerly Come Out Festival). The festival opens on a high note with the free DreamBig Singing Opening Event on 18 May (from 9.30am at Adelaide Oval Southern Plaza), featuring the 2,000 strong Mighty Choir of Small Voices. On the free Big Family Weekend (20-21 May), families can witness an exciting trail of art and wonder, shows, workshops, activities, exhibitions and performances at several locations along North Terrace, Adelaide. The inaugural Adelaide International Youth Film Festival will be presenting a preview of a fun-filled, thought provoking and inspiring program of short films for all ages from all over the world. Specially designed for various ages up to 12 years, the festival program covers film, theatre and drama, art projects, shows for children with special needs, a silent disco, singing and dancing, pop up play, Parkour as well as an array of exhibitions and workshops. Courtesy of Adelaide Festival Centre, CHILD Magazines is giving away a family pass to the Adelaide International Youth Film Festival ‘Best of the Fest’ session, part of DreamBIG Children’s Festival. The pass (admits four, valued at $32) is for Saturday 20 May at 2pm at Mercury Cinemas (Morphett St, Adelaide). Entries close 15 May 2017 at 10am. Winners will be notified via email within three days of the closing date (entrants are advised to check SPAM) and published on the website. If the winner cannot be contacted, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
