THE tumultuous times of the 1920s serves as the backdrop for new movie The Chaperone.

The life of a Kansas woman (Elizabeth McGovern) is forever changed when she chaperones a beautiful and talented 15-year-old dancer to New York for the summer. One is eager to fulfil her destiny of dance and movie stardom; the other hopes to unearth the mysteries of her past.

Based on Laura Moriarty's best-selling book, The Chaperone also stars Haley Lu Richardson, Miranda Otto and Blythe Danner. The film reunites the writer, director and star of the Downton Abbey TV series: it is scripted by Julian Fellowes, directed by Michael Engler and stars Elizabeth McGovern (Lady Grantham in the hit series).
