Last month, the heavy metal hard hitters announced that a new box set celebrating their signature whiskey, Blackened, named after the track of the same name from the band’s 1988 …And Justice for All record. The whiskey is produced in partnership with the cult Sweet Amber Distilling Company — the project of the late artisan craft distiller Dave Pickerell. The brew itself is a blend of straight bourbons and rye whiskeys drawn from throughout North America. The Batch 100 Box Set sees Blackened in a whole new context. The ageing process was soundtracked by a Metallia-indebted playlist curated by master distiller & blender, Rob Dietrich. The box set will feature a bottle of the gold medal award-winning Blackened Whiskey.
