Returning to its home at Spicers Tamarind Retreat on Sunday February 28, the annual celebration of Eastern eats is set to be the perfect event for those craving a culinary escape (you know, seeing as we can’t add any stamps to our passports at the moment). The full-day foodie extravaganza will showcase The Tamarind head chef Daniel Jarrett’s mind-blowing skills across a range of Asian street-food treats – think crispy fried-chicken ribs topped with black pepper and ginger-caramel, Shanghai-style chilled noodles with Fraser Isle spanner crab and Korean burgers made with bulgogi-braised brisket. Of course, it’s not a proper festival without a tipple or two, so eager sippers will be able to imbibe cocktails courtesy of Noosa’s Fortune Distillery and wines from the Barossa’s Eden Valley Brockenchack Winery. Live music filling the fields all afternoon plus a host of workshops are the cherries on top of this glorious day, ensuring that every guest will leave feeling as if they’ve just been jet-setting around Asia.
