FROM the bestselling author of Lilac Girls comes Sunflower Sisters, the incredible story of three very different women set during the American Civil War. Georgeanna Woolsey is a Union nurse who pushes the boundaries of society and finds her passion for nursing just as the Civil War breaks out. In the South, Jemma, is enslaved on one plantation while her sister is enslaved on the property next door. Jemma is sold by the cruel Anne-May Wilson just as the Union Army comes through. Disgruntled and unhappy in her marriage, Anne-May must run her plantation when her husband joins the Union Army and her brother enlists with the Confederates. Bound to become a favourite with historical fiction readers, it is a sweeping story of remarkable women and vividly captures a war-torn America grappling with nationalism and unspeakable cruelty https://www.thesenior.com.au/story/7211860/win-american-civil-war-novel-sunflower-sisters/?cs=6770 Also can send-in entry, too.
