Neil La Bute’s modern classic “The Shape of Things” played to a critically acclaimed season at Flight Path Theatre in January. It now returns for one week in May, where there will be several day sessions to allow senior high school students to see the production. The play is currently being studied by HSC students in the drama “black comedy”section. he Shape of Things (by Neil LaBute (The Mercy Seat, Reasons to be Happy) is a smart, funny, well-observed and provocative play – which toys with questions of art and sex. The title is a reference to the future of art and the shock of the new to come. Adapted into a hit film with Paul Rudd, a 2003 STC version of the show starred Brendan Cowell and Leanna Wallsman.
