Win a one-of-a-kind exclusive tour of William Yang: Seeing and Being Seen at QAG When it comes to famous figures who are known for capturing the true essence of Australia through the LGBTQIA+ lens, few come as prolific as William Yang. The visionary photographer has catalogued an incredible five decades of our country’s vibrant queer subcultures, as well as snapshots revealing the beauty in everyday life. His unique perspective growing up as a gay man from a Chinese immigrant family in North Queensland has informed much of his iconic work – from early explorations of personal identity, to snapping some of the most beloved figures in Australia’s arts and culture scene (hello, Cate Blanchett!). The landmark exhibition William Yang: Seeing and Being Seen has taken over Queensland Art Gallery to provide lucky viewers with a visual feast of the artist’s work through the years, spanning from the vintage 1970s portraits of his early career through to his fascinating modern-day images. To celebrate the inimitable work of William Yang landing at QAG, we have teamed up with the snap-happy staff to create a truly precious prize that will make one lucky photography fan very pleased. The winner will receive a one-of-a-kind tour helmed by the exhibition’s curator, Rosie Hayes, who will provide behind-the-scenes insights and invaluable commentary on William’s extensive body of work.
