Title: The Senior - Win 1/2 “Sunset Boulevard” doubles at Sydney Opera House on 28/08
Post by: culturebird on Saturday 03 August 2024, 07:53:36 am
You have the chance to see a lavish new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical masterpiece, Sunset Boulevard, when it arrives in Sydney.

Based on the Billy Wilder film, the musical version of the show weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Having been discarded by Hollywood with the advent of "talkies", legendary silent movie star, Norma Desmond, is tortured by her longing for a return to the big screen.

When she meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis in a dramatic chance encounter, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.

Sarah Brightman stars as Norma Desmond and Tim Draxl takes the role of Joe Gillis.

Joining Sarah and Tim on stage in the role of Max Von Mayerling will be stage and screen veteran Robert Grubb, with the role of Betty Schaefer played by emerging leading lady Ashleigh Rubenach. Musical theatre performer Jarrod Draper plays the role of Artie Green, whilst the roles of Cecil B. DeMille and Sheldrake are played by established theatre actors Paul Hanlon and Troy Sussman. The role of Norma Desmond, at select performances, is played by Silvie Paladino.

The show opens at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday, August 28 and closes on Friday, November 1, 2024.

We have two double passes to watch Sunset Boulevard at the Sydney Opera House on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 7.30pm to give away, valued at $310 each.
