Throughout the album Nice Biscuit reflects on the weight of global crises, channeling hope and gratitude to anger and apathy. Songs respond to these turbulent times, seeking clarity and calm amidst chaos. 'The Star' is the tarot-inspired opener, a propulsive groove with melodic choruses focused on healing after hardship. 'Love That Takes You Up' continues with disco-inspired basslines and jangly jazz guitars, the result pf spontaneous jam sessions where band members swapped instruments.
