Title: Win 1/15 copies of “Earthspeak” by Sean McCann - Sunday Telegraph - NSW
Post by: culturebird on Sunday 29 June 2025, 03:16:47 am
What do you see when you go for a walk? In this new book Earthspeak, a bush walk in a stunning landscape becomes a heartfelt invitation for children to engage with their senses, care for the environment, and learn some Noongar language words along the way.

“Papa says we’re going to a special place today. If we djinang (look), ni (listen), goordoo (feel), we might hear boodjar wangkiny (earth speak). We might even feel her heartbeat. I wonder what that will sound like? Will the earth’s heart beat just like ours?”

Author Sean McCann is from Gadigal Country in NSW and grew up on Dharawal land in southwest Sydney. He now lives on Noongar land in Perth. Jade Goodwin, the illustrator, is a proud Gamilaroi woman.

To celebrate its release by Allen & Unwin, we have 15 copies to give away. To enter, colour in the picture and then ask your parent or carer to take a photo and email it to: funday@sundaytelegraph.com.au

Entries must be in by Thursday. Please put Earthspeak in the subject line and fill in the coupon so we can contact you if you are a winner.
