Herald Sun and Racing Victoria are on the lookout for fun, creative videos that show how you’re springing into Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival.

Whether you’re planning the ultimate race day outfit, cheering your favourite horse over the line, revelling in a trackside tradition, or celebrating the season at a backyard BBQ, we want to see it.

The Grand Prize is $10,000, while 10 runners up will receive $200.

Post it on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, tag @RacingVictoria, include the hashtag #ThisIsHowWeSpring, and paste the direct link into the entry form.

Terms and conditions

Open to AU residents only. Entrants must be 18 years or older. Competition starts 17 September 2025 at 9:00am AEST and ends 16 November 2025 at 12:00pm AEST. All valid entries will be judged. Number of winners 11: Prize details: 1 x Grand prize winner who will receive AUD $10,000 & 10 x Runner-Up prize winners who will receive AUD $200 each. Total prize pool valued at $12,000. Entrants must, enter via thisishowwespring.newscorppromo.com.au. Fill in the entry form and, then either: Upload an original video (max 20 seconds, vertical format), or post it on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, make sure your profile is public, tag @RacingVictoria and include the hashtag #ThisIsHowWeSpring, then paste the direct link into the entry form. Winners will be selected 24 November 2025 between 9am – 5pm, AEST at HWT Tower 40 City Road Southbank VIC 3006. Winners will be published via thisishowwespring.newscorppromo.com.au/winners. By entering, you confirm you created the video, have consent from anyone featured, and give permission to Racing Victoria and News Corp Australia companies to use the video (in whole or part, edited or unedited, with or without other content) in any media worldwide, without attribution, to promote this competition (now and in future), Racing Victoria events including the Spring Racing Carnival.
