John Frost for Crossroads Live presents Waitress.

The Australian premiere of Broadway’s smash-hit musical WAITRESS opens at Sydney Lyric Theatre on 1 August. Natalie Bassingthwaighte stars as Jenna, with Gabriyel Thomas and Mackenzie Dunn as her coworkers, Becky and Dawn. Rob Mills plays Dr. Pomatter and renowned actor John Waters is diner owner Joe.

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly’s beloved film, including a book by Jessie Nelson, the show features a Grammy®-winning score by Sara Bareilles, and direction by Tony® winner Diane Paulus. This female-led creative team brings heart, humor and music to a story that has captivated audiences worldwide.

WAITRESS tells the story of Jenna, a small-town waitress and expert pie maker who, through friendship, love and a baking contest discovers that the secret ingredient to happiness may be closer than she ever imagined.
