Title: Free Home Insulation - Government Rebate Post by: cherylh on Thursday 23 July 2009, 11:56:12 pm The Federal gvt is giving everyone up to $1600 in roof insulation, if you currently have no insulation, or less than 3mm. I rang an Insulation Company, they came out today to check the ceiling. We qualify as our insulation is over 30 years old and has compacted down. The job is worth $1540.00 and only cost me a phone call. So they will install new insulation, give us a certificate and they recoup the money from the government. So easy. If you are renting you can also get insulation, up to $1000.

There's a minimal amount of paper which the company sends you - literally name address and we've got a lovely warm house! You just have to make sure that you're eligible through an inspection. I believe if you do this scheme you not then eligible for the solar water rebate, but you might want to double check that. One of my best freebies ever as it's going to save on the bills! :D
