Title: Trojan warning - Video Hits comps - maybe?
Post by: Flobberdob on Tuesday 27 October 2009, 06:47:52 am
http://compingclub.com/index.php?topic=132814.0 - video hits michael buble comp - also the vanessa amarosi one

Not sure if this is legit or not, but when I tried to enter this today, my virus program stopped me getting there because of an infected link that my quick google research may says contain a porn trojan.

This is the message I got :

While trying to retrieve the URL:

http://videohits.com.au/vanessa-amorosi.
htm

The following error was encountered:

The requested object is INFECTED with the following viruses: HEUR:Trojan.Script.Iframer

Will research more & see what I come up with.  Other video hits comps have been fine.  Tiesteo was fine

edit - now I am unable to access video hits at all for same reason

seems to have hit a few other websites recently - still not sure if its a false block or not.  Some mention google banner ads being the problem, others say its nothing, some say its very very serious   Has anyone else's virus software detected anything?

I just entered the videohits comps, and it worked fine for me, my antivirius didn't pick anything up!

No problems detected here. I use Avast Antivirus.

The reason why others might not be picking up an issue may be because you have Heuristic Scanning active, whereas the others might not! (Your clue:HEUR:Trojan.Script.Iframer)
It's a different form of virus scanning and is capable of detecting probs where signature-based detection does not. Having said that, I sense the prob (if there is one) is not so much to do with the actual site itself. I sometimes find that Heuristic scanning gives me the odd red herring.....

I have also picked up a trojan horse generic 15xxz, I'm pretty sure its from a comping site dowlnoad but not sure which one, in the last day or so.  I use AVG, trouble getting rid of it
