A Midsummer Night's Dream competition A NEW interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream starts at the Arts Centre on September 8. In this fun retelling of one of Shakespeare’s classic comedies, director Jung-Ung Yang and Korean theatre company Yohangza create a world where fantasy, dreams and magic are interwoven with Korean mythical folklore. Yohangza have created a vibrant new take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Fairy King Oberon and Queen Titania reversing gender roles, Bottom portrayed as a country woman and the character of Puck split into twins. With dance, music, myth and mime, Yohangza’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is billed as a colourful interpretation of a Shakespeare classic, and a lively eastern theatre experience for the whole family. We have 11 double passes, each valued at $98, to give away to the opening night performance at 8pm on September 8. The competition closes at 5pm on August 25.
