Real Living offers readers the chance to win a personalised cover
August 24

The September issue of Real Living proudly offers an Australian publishing first: 10,000 readers have the opportunity to create their own front cover of the magazine’s Christmas 2010 edition and have it bound to a FREE copy of the issue.

Thanks to a partnership between ACP Magazines, nineMSN, and Microsoft, readers of the monthly homes and lifestyle title can easily upload and edit their favourite family pictures to create their own vibrant Real Living Christmas cover.

All readers have to do is visit http://realliving.ninemsn.com.au/office and access the embedded Microsoft Office 2010 functionality, which lets them upload their own photos and add their own coverlines.

Each personalised cover will be printed and bound to a Christmas 2010 issue of Real Living and delivered in mid-December – free of charge – to the person who designed it, who can keep it for themselves or turn it into a wonderful Christmas present for a loved one.

Some advice: Ive just been emailed a copy of my cover...where it said "secondary message" at the bottom of the magazine cover for you to add a personal greeting, even if you delete it and hope to leave that area blank (as I did cos it covered over some of the photo), it will still print with "secondary message" unless you type your own message!!

Please dont make the mistake I did!!

Within a day or 2...thats why I didnt realise til then about my mistake. I didnt see anywhere to preview  before saving for the cover.

Its the Christmas / December issue...maybe they arent out yet...didnt receive mine yet either but wasnt expecting it yet. Im sure they will all arrive, looking gorgeous!!  :D

I didnt realise until after I submited my cover that on the main screen it  said have to have them in by October 27th.  I guess i will see if it gets done as it submited ok.

I'm waiting for mine too - read on original message mag not due out til mid December.  As long as you completed all the steps and got emailed a copy of the cover it should be on it's way soon.   :D

when i try and change the text from smith family home to my surname, it keeps going to the top of the page and typing my text in the 'search; box! It wont let me change it! am i doing something wrong??

Doh I was never emailed a copy! does that mean I won't get it?

Not sure pickmepickme and dragonfly - I did it way back ..... all I know is that it take a bit of working out the adjusting of the photo etc and the banners.  After I finished it it came up with a 'you're finished' sort of message I think and then in the next couple of days I got an email setting out the preview of the mag cover.  Do you think that maybe it has finished and it is not working properly because the 10000 covers have been done???  YOu'd think they would remove it if that was the case????  Time will tell I guess.  (It was a great idea however it would have been good to get more instructions on how to do the banners, resize the pic etc before it was too late - by the time you realised it might not be quite right, you had submitted and no chance of adjusting after that.   :shock:

Got mag today in mail - I messed my greeting line up (a shame the instructions weren't a little clearer when filling it out) anyway daughter is very impressed that she is on the cover of the mag :D
