Title: Should I publicly confess to 2 holidays in 2 months?... Post by: JBMarigold on Thursday 10 March 2011, 01:24:37 pm HAVE I FINALLY FOUND THE KEY THAT UNLOCKS THE SECRET DOOR?! In amongst all the admin and junk emails this morning was this gem... Thank you for recently entering Natio's Byron at Byron Resort and Spa Competition. I am delighted to let you know that your entry has been selected as the major prize winner. The first prize is four nights for two people at The Byron at Byron Resort Spa, including a one hour massage in the Spa and Wellness Centre and a private one hour yoga or meditation session. Our judging panel absolutely loved your entry, where you described in 25 words or less "What you love most about your favourite Natio product". Considering we received over ten thousand entries into this competition yours being the best is a wonderful achievement. Congratulations! Maybe we're going to the Writers' Festival this year... If I find out which of three entries was the winner, I'll let you know... something's going right this year! PHONE JUST rang as I read this and I jumped and thought... "Already?"!!! But it was the company calling. The winning entry was this: Melanoma: not pretty. Not going there. The process for 10,000 entries was: ~ 2000 entries to each of 5 staff to pick their top ten, ~ those top 50 plus one more all checked for word count then top one chosen. (There were some good entries, he said, but they were little essays. ~ remaining 50 get the gift pack. Things that appealed were rhymes and my Sun-smart message. I also entered an acrostic poem that I liked MUCH better - just shows you can't tell. Maybe it was too clever! So there is no real secret key other than persistence. It all depends on those mere 5 people judging... S~peckled, wrinkled? U~ndesirable! DEPART! N~eed SPF30+ S~ensible, smart. C~an’t face melanoma R~ipping family apart. E~asily applied, E~ vitamin, fragrant potion… Love N~ATIO SUNSCREEN SPF30+ LOTION! (I'll copy this into the 'Share you entries' thread for those who may not read this thread... the selection process was reassuring and worth knowing. Not just an number out of a hat after all.)
