On Sunday, 24th April you may have noticed a disruption to your TXT services. What happened: At approximately 2.30pm (AEST) on Sunday afternoon we encountered a network fault in one of our exchanges which prevented many customers from sending and receiving text messages. The fault, was resolved at 9.15pm on Sunday night, and was an isolated issue that affected the core network elements which manages our SMS traffic. We are conducting a full investigation into the outage and based on the findings of this investigation, Vodafone will take every possible step to minimise the risk of it occurring again. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that this disruption may have caused and appreciate how important it is for you to stay in contact at all times. To make up for any disruption and frustration that this may have caused you, we will be giving all Vodafone customers FREE standard TXT this Sunday, 1 May 2011 from 8am to 8pm (AEST) to anyone on any network. FREE standard national TXT. FREE standard International TXT. Premium TXT messages will be charged at normal rates. To be eligible Prepaid customers must be within their recharge period. |
