QGC Photo Competition1. This competition (Competition) is open to residents of the Gladstone Region, except for employees (and their families) of QGC Pty Limited (or any of its subsidiaries) (QGC), The Observer, Cooper McKenzie Marketing, Gladstone Area Promotion and Development Limited (GAPDL), or anyone else associated with the Competition.

2. All information detailing how to enter the Competition forms part of these terms and conditions. Submission of an entry in the Competition will be taken as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

3. Entries are to be submitted via email to Photographers@gladstoneobserver.com.au. Image files must be 300 dpi and between 1MB and 10MB. Each entry must include 25 words or less on what the entrant loves about the image and the entrant’s name, address and telephone number. Those entrants under the age of 18 years must have their entry submitted by their parent or guardian on their behalf. Each entrant may submit a maximum of ten entries in the Competition. Entrants must warrant that the image they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it. We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.

4. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.

5. Copyright in all images submitted for the Competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of the provision of the images in the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to The Gladstone Observer, QGC, GAPDL, Kroombit Lochenbar Station, 1770 LARC Tours, the Women’s Intercultural Network (WIN), Betta Electrical and Pavillions on 1770 to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to the Competition.

6. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.

7. The closing time and date for the Competition is 5:00 pm (EST), Sunday, 31 July 2011.

8. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

9. The winning entries will be those that are judged to be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. The winners will be notified within fourteen days of the closing date of the Competition.

10. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the entrant agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into with the entrants after this decision has been made.

11. The winning entrants shall receive the advertised prizes. These prizes are subject to availability.

12. The winning entrants may be required to take part in publicity.

13. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

14. Events may occur that render the Competition or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter. Accordingly, the Promoter may, at its absolute sole discretion, vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
