DESIGN THE 2012 ROTTNEST CHANNEL SWIM T-SHIRT It’s on again! Local artists have the opportunity to display their talent in the design competition for the official 2012 Rottnest Channel Swim T-shirt with entries closing on Wednesday 31st August 2011. The winning design will be printed on the back of 4,500 T-shirts for the 2012 event and will be worn by swimmers, volunteers, support crew and spectators. Regarded as a collector’s item by swimmers and support crew, the iconic long sleeve T-shirt has been produced since 1994, featuring a bold new design each year. The winning artist will receive acknowledgement in the official 2012 Year Book and will have the choice of either a Duo or Team entry into the event, or $500 cash. “This is a competition for the whole community to be involved in, and we encourage people from all walks of life to enter. Whether you’re a graphic artist, past or present swimmer, or someone who just generally wants to have a go”, said Rottnest Channel Swim Association President Raymond Yong. “The preparation for the 2012 Rottnest Channel Swim is well under way and I think you can expect bigger and better things this year. “2011 was a great success and we are looking forward to engaging more community in the spirit of the swim in future years”, said Mr Yong. All interested artists are asked to download the Terms & Conditions of entry below. 2012 Rottnest Channel Swim T‐shirt Design Competition Terms and Conditions • All entrants welcome • Entrants can submit one entry only per person • Only four colours can be used and must be printable in block colour • Designs may use the colour white as a fifth colour • The design must be of A4 size in portrait orientation • The design is for the back of the T‐shirt – nothing can be printed on the front • Design must be artist’s original work • Design must be provided in high resolution PDF or jpeg format • Design must include PMS colours • RCSA will own the Copyright of the design • RCSA will use the concept or part or whole of the design • The artist will be contacted if any changes are to be made to the design • Entries must include entrants full name, age, address, email address and contact number • RCSA will choose the successful design entirely at its discretion, from the submitted entries, or from other proposals whether or not part of this competition, or may not choose any design at all. • Entrants shall have no claim whatsoever against the RCSA for anything or any costs incurred, or any other matter arising out of this competition. The winner will receive acknowledgement in the official 2012 Year Book, as well as a choice of either a Team or Duo entry in the 2012 Rottnest Channel Swim OR a cash prize of $500.
