Welcome to the official blog for South African Tourism, this is the place to find out more about South Africa’s Awesome Adventures, Exhilarating Experiences, Warm Welcomes and Wonderful Wildlife – and is also the place to enter for your chance to win a trip to South Africa!

Simply comment on this post or email us on SouthAfricaWorldCupCompetition@ppr.com.au in 25 words or less, telling us the top two experiences in South Africa that you would like to try for the first time.

The competition is running in conjunction with the World Cup – from 9 September to 23 October – so for inspiration on the best South African experiences, have a read of our blog or head to www.southafrica.net and then get entering!

Prize consists of: Two return economy flights to Johannesburg, and seven nights hotel accommodation and tourism experiences in South Africa for two people, up to the value of AUD$10,000.



International flight leaves from Sydney only.



Terms and Conditions

 

 

1.          Competition is run by competition organiser South African Tourism Level 3, 117 York St, Sydney +61 2 9261 5000  ABN 30 361 891 074


 

 

2.          Information on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within the promotions can be found on blog.southafricantourism.com.au

 3.          Entry is open to all Australian and New Zealand residents.

4.          By entering the competition, entrants allow entry details, contact email and name to be captured by the competition organisers.

 5.          The competition commences 11am Friday 9 September 2011and ends at 6pm on 23 October 2011.

 6.          Valid entries consist of an entry of 25 words of less on the entrant's Top Two South African experiences, entered via https://blog.southafricantourism.com.au or via email at worldcupcompetition@ppr.com.au

 7.          Entries are to be received by South African Tourism before the end time; any entries after this time are not eligible to win.

 8.          The Winner will be selected by South African Tourism by 6pm on Tuesday 25 October 2011at South African Tourism's offices in Sydney.

 9.          Winner will be notified by telephone or by email immediately following the selection.

10.        Identification which includes a photograph will be required to claim and collect prize.

 11.        Winner under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when claiming and collecting their prize.

 12.        The prize for the competition as listed above cannot be sold, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken for cash.  Noresponsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the prize.

 13.        A valid passport is required for all international journeys.

 14.        Flights are valid for use until March 30th 2011 with exclusion for flights in peak period (December 18th 2010 to January 2nd 2011)

 15.        The two international flights must be utilised at the same time, for the same travel dates between March 2012 and June 2012, to the same destination and be generated from Sydney to Johannesburg return only.

 16.        South African Tourism  will do everything possible to accommodate chosen flight dates and times, but due to space limitations alternatives are sometimes required.

 17.         All bookings must be coordinated and booked through  South African Tourism.

 18.        The winner needs to present the original letter announcing their success when redeeming flight tickets and prize itinerary – the letter will be forwarded to the winner by South African Tourism.  This is a validity issue to ensure the recipient of the flight(s) and accommodation is the actual winner of the competition.

 19.        Adequate travel insurance for the duration of the trip must be organised by the winner at his/her own expense.  Meals or tips, transfer fees (other than specified), excess baggage, government taxes, airport charges, travel insurance and any other personal expenses not specified in the prize package must be paid for by the winner.

 20.        The prize cannot be taken in conjunction with any other travel offer.

 21.        Winner must make their own way to an Australian or New Zealand International Airport Terminal in order to meet their flight. The prize does not include the cost the winner may incur to travel to these international airports.

 22.        Winner maybe required participating in a photo, video and/or film session and providing content on their winning trip; and acknowledging that the organisers have the right to use such publicity photos, video and/or films in any medium and in any reasonable manner they see fit.

 23.        The competition organiser may publicise, broadcast or otherwise disclose the Winner’s name, character, likeness, statement or any recording of their voice in advertising or promotional activities concerning the South African Tourism promotion and may advertise or promote that a winner has won a competition.

24.        The prize for the competition cannot be exchanged for the cash equivalent.

25.        The competition organisers, their agencies or representatives are not responsible for defective prizes or misuse of any prize, or for any claims, liability, loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the competition.

 26.        Employees of the joint organisers, their subsidiaries and immediate families are ineligible to enter.

 27.        The result of the competition draw is final and cannot be contested.  No correspondence will be entered into.

 28.        The competition organisers shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a result of taking the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the joint organisers in their absolute discretion.

 

 29.        The Winner of the prize may at the absolute discretion of the competition organisers be required to execute a Deed of Release and Indemnity in order to receive the prize.  If a winner is under the age of 18, their parent or guardian may, at the absolute discretion of the competition organisers, be required to sign the Deed of Release and Indemnity.
