Terms and Conditions


1.Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2.Entry is open to all residents of Australia. However, employees and their immediate families of Fairfax Media Publications Pty Limited, Salmat IDR Pty Limited, OnePath Australia Limited, and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter.

3.The competition commences on Wednesday 28th September, 2011 at 00:01 (AEST) and concludes on Tuesday 1st November, 2011 at 23:59 (AEDT).

4.The competition will be advertised at www.60pieces.com.

5.A pre-registration period will commence on Monday 19th September, 2011 and cease on Tuesday 27th September, 2011 where entrants will be able to register for the competition. However participants will be able to continue to register throughout the entire promotional period.

To enter, participants must:

a.Locate a “gold coin” on www.afr.com or in The Australian Financial Review newspaper; and

b.Log onto www.60pieces.com and register their details including (but not limited to) name, post code, telephone number, e-mail address, current subscription status and code word.

There will be one gold coin entry available daily and the gold coin will appear in either the Financial Review website or The Australian Financial Review newspaper.

6.Only one unique gold coin code per entry is permitted. Unrecognised codes will not be accepted. Participants may enter only one code word per day however participants are able to win multiple prizes.

7.If the entrant is a current subscriber, or elects to become a subscriber during the promotional period, they will be awarded with a bonus 20 entries to be used in the Grand Prize draw. Subscribers must subscribe to either the Financial Review website, or both the Financial Review website and The Australian Financial Review newspaper. The subscription must be valid and current at the date of the prize draw.

8.Incomprehensible and incomplete entries will be deemed invalid.

9.The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity in order to claim a prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.

10.The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions of Entry or who has, in the opinion of Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the Promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.

11.Entries must be received by 23:59 (AEDT) on Tuesday 1st November, 2011. The time of entry will in each case be the time the online is received by the Promoter’s database. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries not received by the Promoter or delays in the delivery due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.

12.Any entry that is made on behalf of an Entrant by a third party will be invalid.

13.The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependant on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.

INSTANT WIN:          14.Four instant winner prizes will be available to random valid entrants on a weekly basis. Participants will be notified in writing if they are an instant winner. Instant winners will be issued with a unique Prize Claim Number as determined by the Salmat IDR Pty Limited Instant Win System. The unique Prize Claim Number will need to be recorded by the participant for prize verification purposes. In the event of any dispute with the Promoter, or at the Prompter’s request, Instant Winners will be required to correctly quote their unique Prize Claim Number to be awarded their prize. The Promoter reserves the right to withhold the awarding of an instant prize to a participant who cannot provide a valid, unique Prize Claim Number. Any unclaimed or un-verified prizes will be awarded during the second chance draw. Entrants who are not instant winners will be notified that they have been automatically entered into the unclaimed prize draw.

15.Only one instant win prize per person will be awarded (South Australia residents are entitled to win more than one prize). In the event that an entrant wins more than one instant prize, the first instant prize won will be awarded and the remaining prizes will be drawn.

PRIZES:16.There will be:
•One Grand Prize Winner
•Thirty Daily Winners
•Four weekly Instant Winners.

The prize breakdown will be as follows:

Grand Prize Winner:

One grand prize winner will receive the following:

•Gold bullion bars and/or gold coins, valued at no less than $60,000.

•1 x OnePath Financial Planning Platinum Ongoing Service Program valid for one year and valued at $5,500.

* All entrants will receive one entry into the Grand Prize draw for each “gold coin” or code word found. Entrants are permitted to have multiple entries into the Grand Prize draw on the basis that each entry is associated to a unique code word.

Total prize value is $65,500 (including GST).

Daily Winners:

Thirty winners will each receive one 5g minted gold bar.

* Entrants will receive one entry for each “gold coin” or code word found. Entrants will only receive one entry per unique code word entered into the system and therefore one entry per day. Draws will be held daily.   

Individual prize value is up to $318 (including GST). Total prize value is $9,540 (including GST).

Instant Winners:

Four instant winners will each receive one ANZ prepaid gift card, valid until Sunday 30th September, 2012.

* The day of the Instant Win is stipulated in clause 32.The Instant Win will occur once a week. Entrants that enter their “gold coin” or code word on the day of the Instant Win will be eligible for the Instant Win prize if selected at random.   

Individual prize value is $1,500 (including GST). Total prize value is $6,000 (including GST).

17.Total prize value is up to $81,040 (including GST).

18.Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged and cannot be redeemed for cash.

19.Unless expressly stated in these terms and conditions all other expenses become the responsibility of the winner.

20.If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State Regulation.

21.The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.

22.Once prizes have left the Promoter’s premises, the Promoter takes no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.

23.By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, filmed and/or chaperoned throughout the duration of the prize.

24.In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the winner’s participation in the prize to appear in connection with of Fairfax Media Publications Pty Limited or OnePath Australia Limited or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever throughout the world and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

25.In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.

26.Prize values are based upon the recommended retail prices at the time of printing (inclusive of GST). The promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.

27.Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.

28.If the competition winner is under 18 years of age, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian on the winner's behalf.

29.PRIZE DRAWS:Each valid entrant who has entered the competition over the duration of the promotional period will be entered into the draw.

Grand Prize Winner:

One Grand Prize Winner will be drawn at random to become the winner. The draw will take place at Salmat IDR Pty Limited, Level 2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060, on Friday 4th November, 2011 at 13:00 (AEDT).

Daily Winners:

Thirty daily winners will be drawn at random to become the winners. The draw will take place at Salmat IDR Pty Limited, Level 2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060, on the following dates:

30.If any particular draw is scheduled on a public holiday, the draw will be conducted on the following business day.

31.The winners will be notified within 2 days of the draw. The winners will be notified of their prize in writing. Winners of prizes valued over $250 will have their details published in the Public Notices section of The Australian Financial Review newspaper on the dates stipulated below:

33.At the conclusion of the competition all entrants excluding Instant Winning entries will be entered into a draw to distribute any un-won prizes. The draw will take place at Salmat IDR Pty Limited, Level 2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060 on Friday 4th November, 2011 at 13:00 (AEDT).

34.Instant win game materials void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.

35.Programming and other quality control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize claim.

36.Unless otherwise due to fraud or ineligibility under these conditions of entry, all existing claims for prizes and entitlements to claims will be met notwithstanding the advertised prize pool has been exceeded.

37.Printing errors or other quality control matters outside the control of the individual player shall not be used as the sole basis for refusing to award a prize.

38.Winners will be notified instantly and will be notified of their prize in writing. Winners of prizes valued over $250 will have their details published in the Public Notices section of The Australian Financial Review newspaper on the following dates:

GENERAL:

39.Prizes will be awarded to the person named in the entry. However, in a dispute, will be awarded to the account holder of the entry mechanism used to submit their entry.

40.Should an entrant’s contact details change during the promotional period, it is the entrant's responsibility to notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be directed to Promoter.

41.Subject to any direction given under relevant State legislation, an unclaimed prize draw for the Grand Prize Winner and the Daily Winners will take place at Salmat IDR Pty Limited, Level 2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060 on Monday 20th February, 2012 at 12:30 (AEDT). The winners will be notified within 2 days of the draw and will be notified of their prize in writing. Winners of prizes valued over $250 will have their details published in the Public Notices section of The Australian Financial Review newspaper on Wednesday 22nd February, 2012.

42.The promoter’s decision is final and the promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.

43.It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

44.It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.

45.In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to any written directions given under State Regulation.

46.The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

47.The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

48.Fairfax Media Publications Pty Limited, Salmat IDR Pty Limited, OnePath Australia Limited, and their associated agencies and companies assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.

49.If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under State Regulation.

50.All entries become the property of The Promoter. All opt-in entries will be entered into a database and The Promoter may use the entrant’s names, addresses and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide without notice and without any fee being paid unless otherwise advised by the entrant. By opting-in, entrants confirm that they allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes, the entrant should contact The Promoter on their details set out below. Any request to update, modify or delete the entrant’s details should be directed to The Promoter.
