I was lucky enough to win a prize in August '11 valued at $800, which was delivered within 6 days of the comp closing.
Today, 5 months later, the same delivery company delivered the same prize, again????  I phoned the delivery company
and they confirmed todays delivery was from the August comp.  I then phoned the company that ran the comp and told them. I
thought they would have just said we will have it picked up, but they didn't seem to know what to do! They took my name and phone no. and said they would get back to me. :o  Has this happened to anyone else?   

Three times luckylibra, although not with a prize so big  :shock:.  I rang each time, once they said just keep it (then kept sending more (skincare)..... for almost 12 months!), another time it was a mag subscription which my DD was receiving, it just kept coming, and coming, and coming until she moved & I presume the next people kept getting it, the third time they asked for the prize to be sent back.  It's a bit perplexing but far more preferable than NOT getting the prize in the first place..... which I'm sure has happened to most of us  :?

Hi luckylibra, 2-3 years ago I received two electric pressure cookers within days of each other!  Both from the same comp, the same distributor and had the exact same congratulations letter enclosed, to the same address, and the same name (me!!).   Call me dishonest but I didn't let them know or follow it up, if they're that stupid well let it be...........a bit of luck on my side for all the comps I've been told I've won, and the prize never shows up!       Hopefully you get to keep both your prizes, I have my fingers crossed for you :) 

I think I've won some minor prizes (ie <$100) where that has happened. I've received perfume twice and an expensive bodywash twice, and it's hard to know if they're different comps -  tho I have suspected double delivery. I tend to agree with the comment "if they're that stupid .... "!

I would feel uncomfortable with a double-delivery on an expensive prize. My conscience would be disturbed!

Happened to me before with a DVD, I contacted the site I won it form they said they would look into it and get back to me but never did.

Congrats on your prize, again. :lol: Perhaps it's a second chance draw prize?

I remember a few years back a few of us received double and even triple ups of a tanning spray kit from a magazine comp, maybe Famous or Ok mags, they only had a certain amount to give away but ended up giving way too many away.

I won a Tefal hot water jug in a competition and received a second one some weeks later. I thought the promoter had doubled up on the prize but after contacting them I was informed that I'd won the second one in a second chance draw.
I had always thought that second chance draws were for people who had not initially won a prize - so I was pleasantly surprised.  :D

Years ago I claimed an expensive coffee machine from rewards points on our credit card.  It arrived and did not make a decent short black, not as good as our el cheapo machine.  I rang them and wanted to return it.  They said that if it was broken they could exchange it.  I told them it wasn't broken it just didn't do what it said it would.  They gave me the name of someone to write to to complain but I never did.  Weeks later another machine arrived as a "replacement".  It sat next to the first machine for months until the kids claimed one each.  They use them for cappacinos.

Happened to me with a dvd pack.  The first one came with some dvd's different from the advertised, the second pack came identical to the advertised prize, I figured that there might have been a legal requirement to send exactly the advertised prize so they re sent it.  Or maybe they just stuffed up, anyway the duplicated ones made great christmas gifts 2 years back!

A friend of mine won a first aid kit in a competition a couple of years ago and weeks later, received another from the same competition. I myself haven't received any double up prizes but I have heard of others who have had it happen. Apparently it happens quite often.

This happened to me yesterday/today - I received a "Shoo Fly" thingie  from the postie yesterday and another arrived today.  I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what comp these are from and cannot find any comp offering them as a prize....

no douible up's here, I spend ages waiting for stuff that never arrives  :?  but if it was a small value item I wouldn't bother, being more expensive, I would have to ring them and get them to sort it out, the only time I ever came close to a double up was with a kids tent, the girls won one and then the same delivery guy came back with another told hiim NOT my name but my address but I had one, week later he was back  :shock:  still not my name !!! back it goes, third time I told him to ring the company that sent it, I had one and it wasn't my name I didn't care what address they had on it, its wasn't mine..... I think he got the hint he didn't come back  :lol:

I won a pressure cooker which didn't arrive. I called the company to let them know and they said they would send it out. Three days later a pressure cooker arrived. Then, 2 weeks later another arrived so I called the company to say the first one did arrive and now I had 2! Thay thanked me for my honesty and said I could keep the second one! I expected to have to send it back!

The saga ended today! After weeks of promised collection dates, they finally picked up the box today. I can now get my car back into the garage. Maybe my honesty will buy me some good karma :-)  Thanks to everyone who replied to my post and good luck to all.

Could be some of these twice-sent prizes account for some winners whose wins don't arrive? Some bungle at the promoter/sponser's end... good on you luckylibra for persevering on return and winning karma bless you :blueflowerface:
