Win a once-in-a-lifetime ballet experience
Colin Peasley joined The Australian Ballet for its inaugural season in 1962 and went on to become a principal artist and the founder of our Education program. Even now in his seventies, Colin can be found dancing character roles on stage. Over the years, you may have spotted him in Coppélia, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Madame Butterfly, The Merry Widow and, most recently, Graeme Murphy’s Romeo & Juliet.
For the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime ballet experience, tell us how many times you think Artist in Residence Colin Peasley has performed with The Australian Ballet over his 50-year career.
Clues will be seeded throughout the year to help you along and you can enter as many times as you like.
The prize for the closest guess is:
two A-Reserve tickets to Swan Lake on Saturday 22 September 2012 at 7.30pm, at the Arts Centre Melbourne
a pre-performance tour with Colin to see the stars of The Australian Ballet preparing backstage
two return flights to Melbourne from your nearest capital city
one night’s accommodation at Quay West, Southbank.
The competition ends on Tuesday 31 July, 2012, at 5pm (AEST). For the full terms & conditions of entry, click here. NSW permit LTPS/11/12110.
How many times do you think Colin Peasley has performed with The Australian Ballet over his 50-year career? Enter your guess below.
Clue #1: At the Saturday matinee on 25 November 1967 at the Tivoli Theatre in Sydney, whilst Colin was still a corps de ballet member, The Australian Ballet presented its 1000th performance during a season of Coppélia.
Clue #2: Swan Lake was the first performance given by the newly formed Australian Ballet in 1962 and it will be the last ballet danced in this, our fiftieth year. During that time, the company has presented four different productions of this full length ballet. In total, Colin has appeared in 342 performances of Swan Lake.
