Designed to complement both the kindergarten and primary school curriculum, Junior Storytellers aims to entertain as well as improve imagination, literacy, communication and language skills. Structured around classic storytelling elements including the ‘hero’, wants, obstacles, secondary characters, travel and conclusions, the app contains different challenges to suit all developmental levels. It was created with direct input from teachers, parents and education specialists. Conceived in 2006 by writer, blogger and mother-of-four Maria Tedeschi, Junior Storytellers was produced by two award-winning companies in children's content and digital entertainment – Media Farm and The Project Factory.
