Son of a Gun is the much anticipated debut feature of award-winning Australian director Julius Avery (short film Jerrycan). It tells the story of a young man who is locked up for a minor crime, then becomes embroiled in Australia’s underworld when he is taken under the wing of a notorious criminal.

After a chance encounter, 19-year-old JR (Brenton Thwaites) finds himself under the watchful eye of Australia’s most notorious criminal, Brendan Lynch (Ewan McGregor). JR helps Brendan and his crew orchestrate a daring prison escape, in exchange for protection on the inside. Once on the outside, he is rewarded for his efforts with a taste of the high life and invited to join Brendan’s crew. Sucked deeper into the criminal circle, JR falls for the beautiful girlfriend of influential crime boss Sam Lennox (Jacek Koman), and agrees to join a high-stakes heist that promises to deliver millions. But as things start to go awry, JR finds himself on a collision course with his former mentor, unsure of whom he can trust.

The competition closes at 5pm on October 17, 2014. Winners will be drawn on October 20, 2014 and will be contacted by mail.
