Giveaway: Poems to Perform

WIN a book of fabulous poems — specifically, this one:

This poetry anthology was compiled by Julia Donaldson when she was the UK Children’s Laureate (2011–2013). The poems were selected because they are fantastic to read aloud by more than one voice — from two voices, up to a whole class! This is a book that you are guaranteed to want to share with a friend … or two … or three …

Scattered throughout the book are striking black-and-white lino-cut illustrations by Clare Melinksy.

Julia Donaldson has included a section called ‘Suggestions for performance’ at the back of the book. (If you are new to performing poetry in public, you’ll find this section very handy.)

Entries close 11.59pm (WST) on 1 December 2014.

For a chance to win, you will need to :

Email us your name and a postal address in Australia. (Overseas entries are welcome, but you must nominate an Australian address where we can post the prize if you win — we cannot post the prize to an overseas address due to the cost of postage. Sorry!)
POEMS TO PERFORM should be the subject line of your email.
In your email, tell us the name of an AUSTRALIAN children’s poet. (Hint: there are quite a few featured on Alphabet Soup’s website.)

Some fine print:

If you are under 18, you will need to ask a grownup to enter on your behalf.
Entry is open to entrants worldwide but we will only post the prize to an Australian postal address.

The prize is one copy of Poems to Perform: A classic collection chosen by the Children’s Laureate.
Entries to this competition close 11.59pm, WST (that’s when it’s one-minute-to-midnight in Western Australia) on 1 December 2014.
All entries will be put into a soup bowl and one winner will be drawn.
The winner will be notified by email, and the prize will be posted to the postal address nominated in the entrant’s email.
