Win Vintage Tasmania - the complete book of Tasmanian Wine
From the first plantings in 1823 to acclaim today
Vintage Tasmania - The complete book of Tasmanian wine by Tony Walker

Wine in Tasmania industry began with first plantings in 1823 but waned soon after until the1950s when two immigrants planted their vines and it still wasn't until 1974 the first commercial size vineyards were planted. Some 40 years later, the island state is held in high esteem around the world as a premium cool climate wine region. Vintage Tasmania by Tony Walker explains how it happened and the people who made it happen.
We know you love your Tasmanian wine, well this is the must-have book for you! We have three copies to be won.

Just released in late November 2014, this is the first major book to be published that covers the topic in such detail, being a comprehensive review of Tasmanian wine and the result of a two year Masters degree by wine writer/historian Tony Walker.

In his introduction James Halliday says the state is "the most vibrant in Australia, with virtually unlimited potential". Local industry leaders Andrew Pirie (Apogee) and Fred Peacock (Bream Creek Vineyard) also contribute, adding their personal perspectives to the rise, the current situation and looking to the future.

Vintage Tasmania is based on over 50 oral histories from interviews with industry pioneers and pays tribute to the men and women who took the risks and and did the hard yards.

It also takes you on the state's wine routes today guiding you to 50 plus vineyards around the Tasmania who welcome visitors, giving you some insight and perhaps conversation starters when calling by the cellar door!

Mainland distribution will be limited so enter now to win one of three copies of this seminal book on Tasmanian wine.

Vintage Tasmania by Tony Walker is self-published (280 pp, RRP A$49.95) and will be available from late November 2014 throughout Tasmania and online via www.providoretasmania.com.au
