South Australia’s Riverlands region is one of the most picturesque waterways in the world.
From the historic port of Mannum to the popular weekend holiday spot of Blanchetown, the riverbanks and hinterlands along the Murray River offer spectacular scenery.

Finished with polished wood and gold trimmings and featuring a winding staircase, full-length windows and a paddlewheel encased in glass, the PS Murray Princess evokes the cruises of the 1800s.

Recent high water levels have attracted an abundance of wildlife and birdlife.

The cruise includes an exciting selection of shore-side activities, guided nature walks and eco-excursions, onboard presentations, use of spa, sauna and gym, a captain’s dinner and cocktail party, live entertainment, 24-hour self serve tea and coffee bar, and complimentary coach transfers from Adelaide or car parking in Mannum. The cruise sails north from Mannum to Blanchetown.
Highlights include a trip to a vineyard and wine tasting at the cellar door, and visits to a typical Australian farm, woolshed and wildlife shelter. One of the ports of call is Swan Reach, where travellers can join a guided walking tour and visit the Swan Reach Museum. At Sunnydale it’s all ashore for the Woolshed Show and a re-creation of a much-loved part of Australian history.
A visit to the Native Wildlife Shelter is also on the agenda, followed by an Aussie barbecue cooked and served in a bush setting on the riverbank. An optional nocturnal tour by tractor and cart is available (for purchase) after dinner.
At one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites, Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve, visitors can step back in time on a guided walk to see the ancient rock carvings and learn about the area’s Aboriginal history.
Adventure-seekers have an opportunity to take (by purchase) a speed boat ride. The cruise ends with a Farewell Captain’s Buffet, where passengers can dress up and dance the night away.
