Disenchanted with his life and with himself, he focuses on his career and making others happy. Desperate to connect with someone, he rings a fantasy hotline and speaks to Maria (Leeanna Walsman), who goes by the name of ‘Caroline’ on the hotline. When Manny meets Maria by chance in a café, he does not realise it is the same woman he was speaking to, so Maria decides to conceal her secret. As Maria and Manny’s relationship develops, Manny continues to call ‘Caroline’ to confide his concerns about the relationship.
