The Arts Centre Gold Coast has a plethora of exciting shows lined up for its spring season, including Wrecking Ball, Rumour Has It, 7 Deadly Sins and Kinship.

7 Deadly Sins
Friday September 11 and Saturday September 12, 7:30 pm
The Arts Theatre
Plunge into a wicked tale of mortal sin and the modern world. Following the critically acclaimed productions R&J, When Time Stops and The Red Shoes, internationally acclaimed choreographer, Natalie Weir, and the Expressions Dance Company ensemble of award-winning dancers take you on a debaucherous journey through the seven deadly sins in this edgy, premiere production, spiced with villainous wit. Spotlighting the inherent frailty and imperfections that exist in us all, 7 Deadly Sins explores the age-old sinful nature of mankind retold through electrifying contemporary dance characterised by Natalie Weir’s unique insights into the human condition. Rich imagery, extravagant costumes and breath-taking movement will grip your senses in this devilishly delicious adventure.

Wrecking Ball and Rumour Has It double-bill
Saturday September 26
Wrecking Ball at 7:00 pm, followed by Rumour Has It at 8:45 pm
Paradise Showroom
Australia’s fastest-rising cabaret star and Channel Nine’s The Voice sensation Naomi Price returns by popular demand with a double-bill of the little red company’s celebrated original pop-culture cabarets Wrecking Ball and Rumour Has It. The first of Naomi’s critically acclaimed shows, Wrecking Ball, is based on Miley Cyrus, the wild free spirit of a girl whose name was once synonymous with the character Hannah Montana, a childhood icon of innocence and fun. In stark contrast, Rumour Has It features Naomi playing Adele, the Grammy Award-winning British superstar that has taken the world by storm with her chart topping hits. It is clear that Naomi has spent an inordinate amount of time perfecting both characters, and her dedication has paid off in sell out shows and raving reviews. Wrecking Ball has been described as surprisingly emotional and compassionate, fuelled by an eclectic musical catalogue of dirty American country, gospel and blues, whilst Rumour Has It is set to an incredible soundtrack of Adele’s genre-defying original songs. For both shows, Naomi is backed by a big band of Australia’s most sought-after musicians, guaranteeing an unforgettable night of world-class entertainment.
Kinship
Wednesday October 14, 7:30 pm
The Arts Theatre
Rekindling the Aboriginal culture of Australia, internationally acclaimed Bangarra Dance Theatre presents an original and breathtaking theatrical experience, Kinship, by award-winning choreographer Stephen Page. This bold dance theatre work celebrates the resilience of Australian Aboriginal culture in both its traditional and contemporary forms. Kinship features two works — Brolga and ID — a fusion of traditional and contemporary music and dance.

The Arts Centre Gold Coast is offering The Weekend Edition readers the chance to win either a double pass to 7 Deadly Sins on Friday September 11 at 7:30 pm (valued at $108), a double pass to the Wrecking Ball and Rumour Has It double-bill on Saturday September 26 at 7:00 pm (valued at $102.40), or a double pass to Kinship on Wednesday October 14 at 7:30 pm (valued at $108).
