Run-time slowed down by constantly having to bend down and tie your shoes? Running shoes giving you foot problems and pain?

Racing Laces claim to be ridiculously comfortable and good for your feet. They are premium elastic shoelaces with no-slip, no-tie spring locks.

Unlike traditional laces, Racing Laces let your shoes move with the natural bend of your feet so you can reach the next level of performance.

I am very excited to be able to host a Racing Laces review and giveaway! Recently I received a couple of pairs of no-tie elastic shoe laces to review from Racing Laces.

Racing Laces Origin:
Run-time slowed down by constantly having to bend down and tie your shoes? Running shoes giving you foot problems and pain? Racing Laces claim to be ridiculously comfortable and good for your feet. They are premium elastic shoelaces with no-slip, no-tie spring locks. Unlike traditional laces, Racing Laces let your shoes move with the natural bend of your feet so you can reach the next level of performance.

Racing Laces originated in 2014 while founder Kirby Davison was training for a Spartan obstacle course race. He found that regular shoelaces caused foot fatigue and inflammation in his peroneal tendon because they squeezed the sides of his feet inward and didn’t allow his shoes to flex and bend with his feet.

After months of careful research and learning from sports medicine doctors and specialists, he started using elastic laces instead of regular cotton ones and was surprised by how much more comfortable they made his shoes feel.

Almost overnight the tendonitis went away and he was able to increase his running distance to over 30 miles a week. It was obvious–elastic laces were the next evolution in footwear technology.

Existing elastic laces were too stretchy, poor quality, or slipped through the spring lock while moving so his shoes didn’t stay tight, so he decided to make his own.

Racing Laces Review
Prior to discovering Racing Laces, I had been a big fan of a similar kind of no-tie shoe lace called Lock Laces. They are both very similar, but Racing Laces have a few upgrades. For one, Racing Laces use genuine Malaysian rubber instead of synthetic elastic that tends to deteriorate and lose pliancy over time.

Racing Laces won’t disintegrate when they’re exposed to water, sunlight, salt, dirt or other things one might encounter while running. This helps them last longer and continue to give your feet the support they need.

I chose a pink and a black pair to match my Saucony Cohesion 7 black running shoes with pink accents. They are a great all-around pair of shoes, and I’ve liked them so much I just keep buying more pairs of them whenever they wear out! The pink pair of Racing Laces are reflective and look great with these shoes!

Each pair of Racing Laces spring lock and has two independent locking plungers to provide a stronger hold on the laces so they don’t slip and loosen while you move.

Having two different moving parts on the lock ensures that both sides of a lace are held equally firmly. The spring itself is stainless steel, as opposed to normal steel, which won’t rust and snap or stain your shoes when it gets wet.

For my personal use in testing this product, I liked that these laces were tight, but sometimes they could be a little too tight. I hope I’m able to adjust them or they form to my feet a little more with time. Update: They formed to my feet and shoes fabulously with time!

I definitely liked the aesthetics and ease of use with these laces; I also love that I’m not constantly bending down to tie my shoes!

Racing Laces also claims to be a a customer service company who just happens to sell the best athletic laces. I’m a HUGE advocate of customer service–I love to share when I have a good customer service experience but am equally vocal about bad service.

It’s always nice to find companies that are dedicated to making the customers happy; in my opinion that is the best advertisement there is, and it’s free! This goes a long way in my overall happiness and recommendation of this product.

Pros:
Allows natural foot movement for fewer injuries and better muscle development and performance.
Helps to reduce injury–Traditional laces prevent sideways expansion in the shoe as your foot bends at the MTP joint, squeezing the metatarsal bones together while you move. Racing Laces elastic laces allow for natural movement and expansion in your shoes which reduces the likelihood of injury and strengthens the small stabilizing muscles of your feet.
Easy to slip shoes on and off–Still stays firmly in place on feet!
Lots of color variety
Inexpensive–Only $11.99/pair
Free Shipping–I always love free shipping!
Great Customer Service
No more tying!
Cons:
Can fit a little too tight at times Update: These laces were tight the first day I wore them, but after that they have been fine! I wear them almost every day when I take my daily walks.
Color Options–This is just me, but I wish there were another shade of pink or that the pink was a little more of a “hot” pink
More expensive than Lock Laces-Right now they’re a little more expensive than Lock Laces–$11.99 vs. Lock Laces’ $9.99 for a reflective pair, but that may change as company grows and increases production. There are also upgrades in quality over Lock Laces. They also have free shipping, so end the end it evens out, so I don’t know how much of a “con” this really is.
Overall, I love Racing Laces and would absolutely recommend them! Check out Racing Laces and Get your pair and never tie a pair of shoes again!
