Gina Rinehart Supports Christmas Light Competition

In continued support for South Burnett, Mrs Gina Rinehart is once again sponsoring the South Burnett Community Christmas Light Competition for 2016.

In 2015, South Burnett residents, farmers and local businesses showed overwhelming support towards Mrs Gina Rinehart's interest in our region and our unique country style.  In appreciation and in addition to other community assistance, Mrs Gina Rinehart sponsored last year's Christmas Lights competition through Hancock Prospecting and the Georgina Hope Foundation, which included some fantastic prizes comprising of a $15 000 and $10 000 trip to Singapore – and substantial cash prizes provided by Hancock prospecting.

Council received confirmation from Mrs Gina Rinehart that Hancock Prospecting and the Georgina Hope Foundation would again be sponsoring this year's competition with the same prizes.

"I am excited to announce that Mrs Gina Rinehart would once again be sponsoring the 2016 Competition." said Mayor Keith Campbell. "It is not yet known if Mrs Rinehart will visit our community during the Christmas lights competition, but she greatly enjoyed visiting last year and congratulated those she visited for the wonderful effort they had put in. The number of entries last year and the friendly competition generated some truly beautiful displays, which made it very hard for our judges to decide on the winners".

*Super 1st Prize for the Champion: Trip to Singapore for two adults and two children (up to 12 years) including full service, direct (Brisbane to Singapore) return economy air travel. Five nights' accommodation at the Shangri La Hotel in a tower wing, deluxe room with breakfast daily. Return private transfers. High tea at Raffles. Comprehensive travel insurance and the balance of prize in spending money. To be booked within three (3) months of receipt of prize and is to be taken between 1 January 2017 arriving into Singapore no later than 31 December 2017. Prize is not redeemable for cash. Total Value $15,000 (estimate only).

Last year’s champions are not eligible to win the champion prizes this year but may still enter.
