Win a double pass to QSO, ALONDRA AND MAHLER 1

WIN A DOUBLE PASS TO QSO, ALONDRA AND MAHLER 1
Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director Alondra de la Parra opens Season 2017 with the next instalment of her epic Mahler cycle. The Titan, a work of brilliance and extraordinary scale, set the composer on his journey as the great symphonist; this is the perfect entrée for a Mahler odyssey. Add Mendelssohn’s glittering jewel of a concerto in the hands of young pianist Zhang Zuo, and the grand Tannhäuser Overture, and you can expect an evening of power, sparkle and spectacle.

One of the most compelling conductors of her generation, the appointment of Alondra de la Parra as Music Director was widely seen as placing QSO firmly at the vanguard of the world’s orchestral stage. Glimpses of Alondra’s extraordinary abilities as conductor were evident during 2016’s concert program, but this special anniversary year marks the start of an association allowing her to place the stamp of her talent across the whole of the orchestra’s repertoire.

Daily Review has one double pass to give away to QSO, ALONDRA AND MAHLER 1 on Saturday, February 18, at 7.30pm at QPAC Concert Hall, Brisbane.
