UK POP LEGEND ALISON MOYET IS COMING TO ADELAIDE AND WE WANT TO SEND YOU ALONG! The BRIT Award Winner and Grammy Nominee will be showcasing her catalogue of big hits from the 80s and new material from her soon to be released album, ‘Other’ when she hits the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Friday October 6th. Alison Moyet’s career started as one half of electronic duo Yazoo and her many solo hits that followed established her as one of the UKs top female recording artists of all time. Working with Vince Clarke in the early 1980s, Yazoo released many hits including ‘Only You’, ‘Nobody’s Diary’ and ‘Situation’. Between 1984-1987 Alison was the most successful English female singer songwriter. Her first solo album ‘ALF’ was a UK #1 and had three big international hit songs – ‘Love Resurrection’, ‘All Cried Out’ and ‘Invisible’. She continued to release hit singles and albums into the late 80s and in 1991 received a Grammy nomination for her song ‘It Won’t Be Long’. In 2002 she received a BRIT and Mercury Music Prize nomination for her album ‘Hometime’, her first album after an eight year break. Alison signed to Cooking Vinyl and in 2013 released her first Top 5 album in 26 years – ‘the minutes’. Co-written and produced by Guy Sigsworth, the album saw Alison return to her electronic roots – producing an experimental, captivating and critically-acclaimed album.
