Commonwealth Short Story Prize Closing Date: 01/11/2017 Open to: Citizen of a Commonwealth country and 18 years or over Theme: None Accepts: Short Story Size: 2,000- 5,000 words Entry Fee: Nil Prizes: First: £5,000 (if translated, translator recieves £5,000 as well), Regional: £2,500 (if translated, translator recieves £2,500 as well) ABOUT THE 2018 SHORT STORY PRIZE PREVIOUS YEARS' PRIZES PRIZE WINNING STORIES 2018 Commonwealth Short Story Prize Open for entry 1 September – 1 November 2017 Awarded for the best piece of unpublished short fiction (2,000–5,000 words) in English. Regional winners receive £2,500 and the overall winner receives £5,000. Translated entries are also eligible, as are stories written in the original Bengali, Chinese, Kiswahili, Malay, Portuguese, Samoan and Tamil. The competition is free to enter.
