It also depicts their family lives and the personal crises they endured during an era of great political turmoil and technological innovation. Directed by Philip Kaufman and featuring an all star cast including Dennis Quaid, Sam Shepard, Fred Ward, Barbara Hershey, Harry Sheaer, Jeff Goldblum, and David Gulpilil, plus a cameo from the real lie Chuck Yeager, this is a stirring account of real heroism from the dawn on the space age.
