Coming from the wickedly satirical and hilarious political works of Armando Iannucci, The Death of Stalin is an audacious comedy and takedown of bureaucratic dysfunction. Set in Moscow 1953, the film follows the events of tyrannical dictator Joseph Stalin's death, in which his parasitic cronies square off in a frantic power struggle to be the next Soviet leader. Among the contenders are the dweeby Georgy Malenkov (Jeffrey Tambor), the wily Nikita Khrushchev (Steve Buscemi), and the sadistic secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria (Simon Russell Beale).
