As they walk silently behind a horse-drawn cart carrying two crates to an unknown destination, their presence elicits a spate of rumours. Winner of the Audience Award at JIFF (Jewish International Film Festival) 2017, 1945 stunningly captures a transitional moment in European history with one Hungarian village’s actions reflecting the moral corrosion of an entire continent. The film will be shown in three Melbourne cinemas: Classic Cinemas in Elsternwick, Lido Cinemas in Hawthorn, and the Cameo Cinemas in Belgrave. The Australian Jewish News has 10 double passes to giveaway to the film. Competition entrants must specify which cinema they wish to see the film at. Competition entries close on 29 March at noon. This competition is open to Australian residents only. Employees of The Australian Jewish News and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. The winners will be drawn randomly and contacted by email only, using the email registered by the winner.
