 Ghost Story Competition
We are now pleased to announce the 2017 winners (see right) and report that the audience of over 80 people were suitably terrified by their performances at KSP's Spooky Stories Night.



The 2017 Ghost Story Competition has been made possible because of the kind donation made by KSP's Chairperson, Tabetha Beggs.

 



2018 Chairperson's Ghost Story Competition

Open to Western Australian residents only

Limit of two fiction prose entries per person

 

Deadline

5.00pm AWST Friday 13 July 2018

Shortlisted entrants will be notified mid-August

Winners will be announced on Saturday 25 August 2018

at KSP's Spooky Stories Night

 

Costs: Free to enter

 

Word/Line Counts

YOUTH (8-18): Max 500 words prose

ADULT: Max 1,500 words prose

 

Theme: Night

(Please note this theme is very loose! Interpretations welcome)



Ghost story submissions may involve paranormal or supernatural themes, including magic, ghosts, spirits or altered states of realism. We’re looking for polished writing, good editing, fresh perspectives, and maybe a few surprises. The theme are open to interpretation, as long as the piece contains an eerie/spooky theme.

Prepare a Word document using 1.5 point spacing

Please list your full name, contact number and indicate the category of entry in the body of email

 

Chairperson's Awards

Adult first prize (prose): $50 and goody bag

Adult second prize (prose): $25 and goody bag

Youth first prize (prose): $50

Youth second prize (prose): Box of chocolates



All shortlisted and winning entrants invited to read their story

or poem at KSP’s Spooky Stories Night in August

Winning entries offered publication in Swan Magazine
