Dark Mofo in Tasmania with Talisker Valued at over $3,400

In Partnership with Talisker.

For its second year in a row, legendary Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery Talisker is working with Dark Mofo to bring the Talisker Dark Bar to the wild Hobart festival. Anybody who’s visited Hobart in winter knows the awesome effect of Dark Mofo. For 12 days, the otherwise cold and sleepy town turns into a veritable garden of Earthly delights; a festival filled with pagan ritual, performance art, music, late nights, loud noises, lots of fire and thousands of people.

The ever-increasing crowd numbers who brave the Tassie winter each year is a testament to this weird display of artistic flair. The brainchild of David Walsh, an eccentric art collector and businessman from Hobart who has single-handedly invigorated Hobart’s tourism trade when he opened his museum, MONA, in 2012, Dark Mofo has become a bucket-list item for some, and an annual ritual for others.

Drawing international attention for its bold stunts, Dark Mofo sets out to challenge even the most hardened visitors, and revelers are treated to once-in-a-lifetime experiences, paired with some of the most fun events, best drinks and coolest parties Australia has ever seen.

Tasmania also shares many geographical traits with the Isle of Skye, home of Talisker (the rugged coastline for one). Talisker’s delicious drams are maritime in nature: slightly saline and slightly peated, with a lovely enduring minerality on the finish.

In their second year as sponsors of Dark Mofo, they’re also responsible for the Talisker Dark Bar, in Dark Park (one of the festival’s main attractions), serving up expertly crafted cocktails with their signature whisky at the core. Given the icy temperatures festival-goers can expect, Talisker have created The Talisker Hot Toddy just for the festival (a classic wintry way to enjoy whisky, with a distinctly Australian twist thanks to the addition of gum leaves).

Talisker has teamed up with Man of Many to offer one lucky reader the chance to win the ultimate Dark Mofo weekend away. The prize package includes:

2 x return flights to Hobart
Transfers
2 x nights accommodation
2 x tickets to see St Vincent live
2 x tickets to Night Mass (both nights)
2 x season passes to Winter Feast (note: food & beverage costs at Winter Feast not covered)
Cocktails at Talisker Dark Bar AND

A day trip out to Bruny Island for freshly shucked oysters, paired with Talisker whisky.

The Talisker Oyster Ritual–pairing freshly shucked oysters with Talisker’s subtly peated whisky—is a rare treat, including a trip across the water to Bruny Island, to crack open fresh oysters by the sea and enjoy them with a sip (or two) of Talisker, just as is offered (or rather, insisted) on the Isle of Skye. The total prize package is valued at over AU $3,400.

Six runners-up will score a bottle of Talisker 10 year old for their efforts.

Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to experience one of the world’s most talked about festivals, in partnership with the Australia’s most popular peated malt whisky.
