The Tasmanian Government is providing Seniors Card holders with 12 months free entry 1 to our 19 national parks, starting 1 July 2018. Free entry applies only to entry for national parks - other fees such as guided cave tours, overnight walk passes and camping fees, still apply. Who is eligible? This offer is open to all Australian residents who are holders of Australian Government-issued Seniors Cards 2, not including Seniors Business Cards. How do you access the benefits? From 1 July 2018, Seniors Card holders will be able to obtain their free Seniors parks pass by registering online through our Parks Pass Portal(passes.parks.tas.gov.au) or at a national park visitor centre. These passes must be printed and displayed on the vehicle dashboard when visiting a national park. Please note: The Seniors pass holder must be travelling in the vehicle. The Seniors pass is not transferable. Additional identification may be requested to confirm identity. Previous cost of an annual pass for Seniors Card holders was up to $76(tas.liberal.org.au) ↩ The Tasmanian Premier's media statement(tas.liberal.org.au) mentions that the offer is for "Tasmanian seniors", however the National Parks news page states that it is open to all Australian seniors. ↩ |
