First Prize: $400, Blackened Billy Trophy and certificate Second Prize: $200 and certificate Third Prize: $100 and certificate Highly Commended/Commended certificates Blackened Billy Verse Competition 2019 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Entries will be received by post only and must be post marked no later than 23 November 2018. 2. Entries to be relevant to Australia or Australians and to be written with accurate rhyme and metre. 3. Entries must be author’s own work, and author’s name must not appear on any of the poems. 4. As at closing date, entries shall not have won 1st prize in any poetry competition. 5. Entries shall not have been previously published for the monetary gain of the author. 6. Winning entries will be announced and prizes presented at the Tamworth, Country Music Festival – venue, date and time tba. 7. 4 copies of each poem must be submitted. (Unless a critique is paid for, poems will not be returned.) 8. Where a judge’s critique is required, please provide an A4 self-addressed envelope stamped to the same value as entry. 9. There is no limit to the number of entries but please use an additional entry form for each 3 poems. 10.Results will be published through the ABPA magazine and website following the presentations. Entrants who wish to receive results by post, please enclose a business-sized, stamped, sa envelope. 11.The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
