Madness & Confrontation takes its inspiration from the story of the orchestra’s founding artistic director Richard Gill AO conducting Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro (based on the original play “Day of Madness”). It was the late, much-loved legendary musician and music educator who, together with co-artistic directors Rachael Beesley and Nicole van Bruggen, had the idea of establishing the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra.
