The national Teens: Motorcycle Helmet Design competition invites budding designers and artists between the ages of 13 and 18 to submit a design for a motorcycle helmet. Take inspiration from ‘The Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire’ on display at GOMA and create a design for a motorcycle helmet. Your design will be judged on its creativity, presentation, idea and concept. There’s some amazing prizes up for grabs, including the chance to have your design published online and in print by QAGOMA! Read on for more details. Need inspiration? Join artist TextaQueen online for a free workshop and talk, where they’ll provide tips on how to approach your design. HOW TO ENTER Download the competition overview and instructions and read carefully. Download the motorcycle helmet design template. A variety of file types have been provided (JPEG, PDF, PSD). You must use this template for your design submission. Scan, photograph or save your design once it’s completed. Designs must be submitted as a high resolution JPEG file. Fill in the online entry form and submit your design by 11.59pm on Sunday 24 January 2021. Entries will be judged by QAGOMA and artists TextaQueen and Callum McGrath. Full judging criteria is included in the competition instructions. COMPETITION ENQUIRY KEY DATES Friday 27 November 2020 | Submissions open. Sunday 24 January 2021 | Submissions close at 11.59pm. Early February 2021 | Winners announced. The winners will be contacted via email. PRIZES: The winner will have their design published in QAGOMA’s quarterly magazine Artlines and featured on QAGOMA’s website. They will also receive: ‘The Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire’ pack featuring an exhibition catalogue, merchandise, plus more (valued at over $300) 2 x complimentary tickets to see ‘The Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire’ A QAGOMA Store voucher valued at $150 Highly commended entries will receive 2 x complimentary tickets to see ‘The Motorcycle: Design, Art, Desire’. ENTRY CRITERIA Teens must be aged 13 – 18 years at the time of entering. Teens under the age of 18 must have the permission of a parent or guardian to participate. Teens must reside within Australia.
