Seiko Prospex ‘King Turtle’ SRPH37K

An iconic dive watch that sits amongst the ranks in history, the King Turtle has been a staple addition to Seiko’s lineup since it first hit the market in 1976 with reference 6306-7000/1. An exclusive to the Japanese market at the time and with a depth rating of 150-metres (200-metres today) it suited the needs of the everyday man and continues that tradition to this day.

Nicknamed the “Turtle” for its oblong case that resembles a turtle shell, today, the Prospex SRP series remains an entry point to the Seiko Diver lineup but arrives with a history adorned by its fans – of which there are many.

The SRPH37K is presented to the Australasian market in limited numbers. Upon first glance, the eye is immediately drawn to the black ceramic bezel housing the contrasting, yet understated, two-tone green dial with white font for increased visibility. The dial is finished in a three-dimensional cube pattern coloured in green, and the hands and hour markers combine silver with Seiko’s proprietary Lumibrite technology.

Powered by the movement of the wearer, or by winding the crown, the Automatic 4R36 calibre movement power reserve of 41-hours

The watch is water resistance to 200-metres and meets ISO6425 standards for divers watches, they don’t call it a ‘King Turtle’ for nothing!
