Title: Win 1/5 Australian Geographic Book Packs, Including ‘How To Raise Outdoor Kids’
Post by: culturebird on Monday 25 July 2022, 08:30:41 am

It’s time to get back out and explore our beautiful planet with our kids, so we’ve teamed up with Australian Geographic to give away five $100 book packs to help guide your adventures.

Up for grabs are five Australian Geographic book prize packs, including How to Raise Outdoor Kids, Australia’s Incredible Insects and Pip & Pete’s Antarctic Adventure (valued at $100 each pack).

For almost 40 years, Australian Geographic has showcased the very best of Australia’s nature, culture, people and places. Its meticulously crafted and beautifully presented stories and photography have captured the essence and spirit of Australia as well as supported conservation, adventure and community projects through its charitable foundation, Australian Geographic Society.

As part of Australian Geographic’s dedication to educating and engaging the future generation, the team has compiled five family-fun book prize packs, including:

How to Raise Outdoor Kids
Author: Linda Drummond

Written by science journalist, Linda Drummond, How to Raise Outdoor Kids is the ultimate guide to inspire kids and families to get outdoors and discover the world around them.

Backed by experts in early childhood and outdoor play, it provides simple tips and activities to help today’s parents stimulate their child’s curiosity, imagination and sense of adventure off their screens and into their natural surroundings.

Australia’s Incredible Insects
Author: Jessa Thurman (entomologist and photographer)

This visual book is filled with seriously weird and wonderful facts about insects so kids can foster an appreciation for insects rather than fear them – for example, did you know ants communicate through smell and the fastest insect on earth is the South Australian Tiger Beetle, which can run up to 2.5m per second or up to 9km per hour?

Pip & Pete’s Antarctic Adventure
Author: Martine Allars
Cartoonist: Environmental advocate and cartoonist, Damian Hugo Castellini

The first in a comic book series to educate primary-school aged kids on major climate change issues in an entertaining and educational way. Pip and Pete go on an Antarctic Adventure where they discover an oil spill and melting ice caps which threaten the lives of local wildlife. Together, they work to understand the issues at hand and how to rescue the animals before they fall prey to predators and to the hands of climate change. Following each story, the comic outlines facts about the environment and the featured wildlife for educational benefits.
