UV is Key – SunSmart Competition Competition Schedule Name of Competition UV is Key – SunSmart Nippers and Youth Competition Promoter Surf Life Saving WA Inc. (SLSWA) Applicable State/s Western Australia Entry Requirements Entrants must be current financial members of an affiliated Surf Life Saving WA Club. Entrants must be aged 5 years old to 16 years old, inclusive. Ineligible Entrants Entrants who are not current financial members of an affiliated Surf Life Saving WA Club and not aged within the required age group. Employees of the promoter/s and their immediate families. Competition Period The competition opens on 24 Jan 2024. Entries close on 6 March 2024. Entry Method During the Competition Period: For a Registered SLSWA member, aged 5-16 (“SLSWA Member”) to enter into the competition during the Competition Period, he or she must submit a completed UV-is-Key Observation Form via the competition website as detailed in Entry Details. By submitting the form, the entrant warrants that he or she has read these Conditions of Entry and has sought and received consent from a parent(s) or legal guardian to provide personal information to SLSWA for the purposes of entering into and participating in this competition, including participating in any promotional activities (such as publicity and photography) regarding winning the prize and the use of the SLSWA Member’s name and image in promotional material without payment. Entry Details Entrants must enter via https://www.mybeach.com.au/sunsmartcompetition The entrant must complete the UV-is-Key Observation Form and provide the following information via the entry link: Entrants must include the following details: SLSWA Member Details Relationship to SLSWA member: Phone: Email: Maximum Number of Entries SLSWA Members may only enter once. Entry Criteria Winners will be selected by our promoting partner, Healthway, from all eligible entries received during the competition period. Two major winners will be chosen overall, based on meeting the competition criteria from all entries received and verified by the Promoter and or its agents, with one winner from each age category – age 5-11 and age 12-16 inclusive, age at date and time of competition closing; and Two minor prize winners (2nd & 3rd) will be awarded from all eligible entries. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Prize Details There are 2 (two) major prizes to be won during the competition period and 2 (two) minor prizes. Major Prize (x2) - surfboard or nipper board plus SunSmart Pack (SunSmart backpack, SunSmart water bottle, SunSmart hat, SunSmart sunscreen) Minor Prizes (2) - SunSmart Pack Prize Conditions The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. If a winner does not take a part of the Prize at the time set by SLSWA, the winner will forfeit that part. SLSWA accepts no responsibility for changes in Prize value. If a Prize is unavailable, SLSWA will substitute it for one of equal or greater value. Total Prize Pool The total prize pool is valued at up to $1,600 (inc GST) Notification Method The parent(s) or legal guardians of the prize winners will be notified in writing (via email provided at point of entry) and/or by telephone by SLSWA within two days of the judges’ decision. Winners will also be announced via the Promoter's social media channels and other digital means i.e., Members eNewsletters. Prize Claim Date & Time The prize winners will be announced week commencing 11 March 2024. The prize/s must be claimed by 4.30pm WST Sunday 31 March 2024. Where a prize is no longer available, for example, because the date of an event has passed, the new prize winner will receive a prize as determined by SLSWA of equal or higher value. Runner up prizes will be distributed to the clubs for collection by prize winners. Conditions of Entry 1. These Conditions of Entry must be read together with the Schedule. By entering, entrants accept these conditions. 2. Entry is open to residents of Western Australia who comply with the Entry Requirements (if any). Entries submitted by Ineligible Entrants are not accepted. If entry is permitted to persons under 18, those entrants must first obtain consent of their parent or guardian. 3. The competition will be run during the Competition Period. 4. To enter, entrants must follow the Entry Method, noting any Entry Details, and submit their entries during the Competition Period. 5. Entrants may only submit up to the Maximum Number of Entries. 6. All valid entries will be entered into the competition. Entries must be received during the Competition Period. SLSWA has no control over telecommunications networks and accepts no responsibility for problems associated with them. Entries deemed received at the time of receipt into SLSWA’s database, not at the time of transmission. Entries submitted using any form of automated entry device or software are ineligible. Entries not fully complying with these Conditions of Entry will be deemed invalid. SLSWA accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, delayed, corrupted, illegible or misdirected entries whether due to error, omission, alteration, deletion, destruction, transmission interruption, tampering, theft, destruction failure or otherwise. 7. The best valid entry as determined by the judges according to the Entry Criteria will win the Prize described in the Schedule. 8. Each valid entry will be individually judged on the basis of the Entry Criteria. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. 9. All entries will become SLSWA’s property. Each entry must be the entrant’s original work and entrants agree that SLSWA may make copies of or publish their entry in any form or media. Entrants warrant that their entry is not, and its use by SLSWA will not be, in breach of any person’s intellectual property rights or any other rights. 10. Following the consent of their parents (s) or legal guardians, winners agree to participate in any promotional activity regarding winning the Prize and consent to their name and image being used in promotional material without payment. 11. Entrants acknowledge that there may be some inherent risks is some aspects of using the Prize and that it is their responsibility to ensure that they are sufficiently healthy and fit so as to undertake activities associated with the Prize. It is a condition of accepting such Prize that upon request the winner will sign a legal release in favour of SLSWA and/or the issuer of the Prize and the agencies associated with the competition. 12. Winners will be notified by the Notification Method described in the Schedule. 13. SLSWA may request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated Prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of SLSWA. 14. Prizes must be claimed by the Prize Claim Date and Time otherwise that winner will forfeit the Prize and SLSWA will distribute the Prize to the next best valid entry that has not already received a Prize. Where a Prize is no longer available, for example, because the date of an event has passed, the new Prize winner will receive a Prize as determined by SLSWA of equal or higher value. 15. Collection of prizes is the responsibility of prize winners. 16. SLSWA does not warrant and makes no representations that any Prize will be fit for any purpose or will be of merchantable quality. If liability under any terms implied at law cannot be excluded, the liability of SLSWA and its associated agencies is limited to the re-supply of the Prize or the cost of its re-supply. 17. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion is affected for any reason, SLSWA may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, change or suspend the competition. SLSWA may disqualify any individual who tampers (or benefits from the tampering) with the entry process or the conduct of the competition or who has, in SLSWA’s opinion, engaged in conduct which is fraudulent, misleading or generally damaging to the reputation of SLSWA or has breached these Conditions of Entry. 18. SLSWA will not be liable for any loss (including without limitation, consequential or indirect loss), cost or damage, personal injury or death which is suffered (whether or not due to the negligence of any person) in connection with entering the competition or using the Prize, except any liability which cannot be excluded by law (and if so, that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law). 19.
