Entering its 23rd year, the Jewish International Film Festival promises this year’s program to be the best one yet when it rolls out in Sydney and Melbourne this November. Packed with diversity in terms of theme and form, the program features 34 features and documentaries from 14 countries, which aim to challenge, inform and entertain audiences from within and beyond the Jewish community.
Program highlights include the Grand Jury Prize Winner at Sundance this year, The Law In These Parts; Australian director Tony Krawitz’s rich and provocative Dead Europe (pictured); Laurent Bouzereau’s Roman Polanski – A Film Memoir, which chronicles the notorious existence of the cinematic auteur; and Arnon Goldfinger’s intriguing documentary, The Flat, which has proven a huge box office hit in Germany and Israel, where it has run in cinemas for close to a year.
